TRAVEL AND CONFERENCE FUND – 2016 Madagascar Workshop, ‘The Sacred and the Profane: Society, Cosmology and the Environment in Madagascar’ (27-29 May 2016, Avignon, France)
The Indian Ocean World Centre at McGill University offers 4 scholarships to Malagasy graduate students (PhD or post-doctoral candidates) or full scholars in the fields of anthropology, geography, history, linguistics, archaeology, or related disciplines, to attend a multidisciplinary workshop on Madagascar to be held in Avignon, France, on 27 and 28 May 2016.The fund covers airfare and accommodation during both conference days, as well as conference registration fees.
Candidates are asked to send a 250-300 word abstract of their proposed presentation, in English or French, and should include the student’s department and affiliation. Please include a C.V.

25 April 2016. Successful applicants will be informed by 30 April 2016. Full papers from successful candidates will be expected by 20 May 2016. Student papers will be discussed in a graduate student seminar, to be held at the conference.
