May 27-28: The workshop will include panel presentations, a thematic plenary session (topic TBD), a graduate student seminar and two keynote speakers.
Keynote speakers: Dr. Sophie Blanchy (CNRS, Laboratoire d’ethnologie et de sociologie comparative/CNRS-Université de Paris Ouest Nanterre) and Dr. Jean-Aimé Rakotoarisoa (INALCO/l’Institut de Civilisations de l’Université d’Antananarivo).
Graduate Seminar: A seminar for graduate students will be held on May 28.
May 28, 20h00: Conference dinner
A conference dinner for workshop participants will be take place at the local Avignon restaurant, “La Treille.” Costs are included in conference registration for presenting participants.

May 29: Excursion to the scenic Chateauneuf du Pape wine country
This optional excursion will be organized for workshop participants. Kindly let us know at least three weeks before the conference if you are interested in attending. The cost for the excursion is 50 euros per person and includes transport by bus, a picnic lunch, and wine tasting.
May 30: Planning Meeting
On May 30, we will convene a smaller group of participants interested in discussing publication plans and potential future Madagascar Workshops in France. Please let us know if you are able to join us for this meeting and have an interest in being part of the planning committee.
